It has been a great and busy year at Graceful Birth Doula Services. We’ve had the privilege of supporting many families through birth and the postpartum time. The months of April and May were…how can I describe it…NUTS. I guess it must have been that Indian Summer we had!
Last week we had four clients in labour. Some on the same day! How does that happen you might ask?
Birth is unpredictable. We do our very best to book clients spaced apart…but nature determines when babies will be born. Sometimes they are preterm and other times they’re post term.
If you’re pregnant and considering a doula, here’s what sets us apart.
At Graceful Birth we work on a Shared Care model. That means Diane and I share each and every client. Here’s how it works:
- We attend every consultation together
- We attend every prenatal visit together
- We share an on call schedule
- We back each other up on our off call weeks.
Our number one priority is that our clients feel reassured, confident and comfortable with everyone on their birthing team.
So last week was crazy but… we had four happy clients who were well supported and no doula surprises.
This week…these doulas are having a well deserved rest and a glass of wine.
