Upon finding out I was pregnant with my first child, I knew that I wanted the best possible, most natural and healthy birth experience. I got on the waiting lists for a midwife to no avail. Then I found Grace. Before having a first child, a woman can take all the classes and study up as much as possible, and that helps, but the reality is you won’t know what to expect until you have crossed the childbirth threshold.
Having Grace there with me and my husband as we brought our son Elijah into the world was godsent. Grace provided the support my husband and I both needed as we charted an unknown territory. She was like a guide on a mountain climbing expedition who helped us to get to the summit to have that mountain-top experience.
Four weeks after Elijah was born, I, unfortunately, had a fall and broke my arm. Shortly after it happened I called Grace to let her know that we needed help. Despite being in a full arm cast, Grace helped to make it possible for me to breastfeed my son. I believe that being able to breastfeed in the midst of a chaotic time helped me to heal physically and ensured that I maintained that special bond with my son.
Thank you Grace!
